Size note: Charnwood Country 6, 8, 12 and the listed Country boiler models are commonly associated with a nominal glass size close to 280 × 178mm. Our compatible replacement is precision cut to 278 × 178mm to provide suitable fitting clearance.
The glass seal forms the protective cushion between the glass-ceramic panel and the metal stove door. It helps the pane sit evenly, distributes pressure from the glass retainers and prevents direct glass-to-metal contact as the stove heats and cools.
The existing seal is often compressed, hardened or damaged when the old glass is removed. Reusing a worn seal can leave the replacement pane unevenly supported and vulnerable to concentrated pressure points.
Supplying a fresh seal with every panel gives you the essential components needed for a careful and secure installation.
Please note: this is the thin flat seal used when fitting the stove glass. It is not the larger round rope fitted around the outer edge of the stove door.
Allow the stove to cool completely. Remove the old glass and seal carefully, then clean the glass recess thoroughly before fitting the replacement.
Apply the new seal evenly without stretching it. Refit the glass retainers gradually and evenly.
Do not overtighten the clips or screws. They should hold the pane securely without rigidly clamping it, as excessive or uneven pressure may cause the glass to fracture.
This product is made from genuine SCHOTT ROBAX® glass-ceramic and is precision cut by Stove Spare Glass Ltd as a compatible replacement for the stated Charnwood models. It is not an original Charnwood-branded spare part. Charnwood model names and part references are used only to identify compatibility.
